I "paged downed" book
Automating Linux and UNIX System Administration 2nd by Nate Campi and Kirk Bauer. Remarkable part of the book is how authors describe a system administrator's life.
- Tedious, repetitive tasks (aka boring tasks)
- New, innovative tasks (aka why you love the job)
- Answering users' questions, or otherwise dealing with monitoring alarms, issues or emergencies (aka pulling your hair out)
I disagree on emergencies are pulling my hair out. More like opposite, challenging and heroic. On other hand, it is killing a lot of brain too.
