First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

I was listening to OSCON earlier and found out people are talking about so many interesting topics that my time is just not enough. This is maybe only beginning of what we have imagined. Discussed about a value of an Mac Mini from 2006 over coffee machines. I said that computer over 3 years old basically doesn't have any values at all. Three years seems long, but it is not.

This blog is about future cloud vendors. I think we passed "ignore phrase" and at the moment we are somewhere between laughing and  fighting. Some companies are joining the cloud side, some aren't.

Personally, I don't truly believe entirely concept of private cloud. I think it's a bi-product because we can not trust public cloud, also mainly because hardware vendors are making a huge money from it. CAPEX is getting lower, but far away from "perfection". You properly pay 30%-40% more for your hardware than company like facebook.

Many companies are not fighting to the cloud. They adjust their business and make it so called cloud friendly, but again it is far away from true cloud idea. Only very companies are following that. Amazon, Rackspace and Google are few big names. Also OpenStack, OpenNebula and CloudStack.

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.
